Privacy Policy
Bars & Bells is a home workout app for iPhone, made by Ahmed Fathy, an independent developer in Cairo, Egypt. The short version: the app does not collect any information about you.
What the app stores, and where
To remember your training, the app keeps these on your device only:
- the gear you selected and the plan you chose;
- the workouts you finished and the day you're up to;
- the dumbbell weight you entered for each exercise;
- small preferences, such as supersets and whether you've seen the guide.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it. If your device backs up to iCloud, Apple may include this app data in your backup, under Apple's own privacy terms.
Purchases
The optional "Unlock all gear" purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, card or payment details. Apple only tells the app whether your Apple Account owns the unlock, so it can switch the extra gear on. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles payments.
Notifications and device features
If you allow notifications, the app schedules a local reminder on your device when a rest timer ends. It is created and delivered on your phone; no server is involved. Keeping the screen awake during a workout and vibration feedback are also handled on your device.
Network use
All exercises, pictures and fonts are built into the app, so it works offline. The only network connection it makes is to the App Store, to show the price and process or restore a purchase.
Children
The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, with a new date at the top.
